Ahcène ZEHNATI

He is a graduate of the National Institute of Planning and Statistics in Algiers, as well as the universities of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Bourgogne Franche-Comté, Béjaia and Montpellier. Currently a scientific project manager in health economics at the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS, France), he previously worked for 17 years at the Centre for Research in Applied Economics for Development (CREAD, Algeria), where he was promoted to research director in 2020. He is also an associate researcher at the Dijon Economics Laboratory (LEDi, University of Burgundy) within the Health Economics team. His doctoral thesis, defended in 2014, focused on an economic analysis of the emergence and development of private healthcare provision in Algeria. His research focuses on the organisation and financing of health systems, health economic evaluation, maternal and child health, medical demography and the international migration of doctors. Mr Zehnati has authored several books and articles in national and international journals such as the *International Journal of Health Economics and Management*, *International Development Policy*,*Mondes en développement*, the *European Journal of Geography*, the *Belgian Journal of Geography*, *Insurance and Risk Management*, *Tropical Medicine and International Health* and *Maghreb-Machrek*.
