Alain Ducasse
Alain Ducasse, born on 13 September 1956 in Orthez (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), is a chef. A French national, he became a naturalised citizen of Monaco in 2008.
Alain Ducasse was awarded three Michelin stars for three different restaurants: Le Louis XV at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo in 1990, Alain Ducasse at the Plaza Athénée in Paris in 1997, and Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester in London in 2010.
For a long time the chef with the most Michelin stars in the world, by March 2026 he had 17 Michelin stars, one fewer than Yannick Alléno.
He has been chairman of Châteaux et Hôtels Collection since 1999 (comprising nearly 700 establishments) and is the head of the Alain Ducasse Group, a hospitality and catering company. In 2012, he was ranked 94th in Forbes’ list of the world’s 100 most influential people.
On 15 April 2013, the restaurant was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the Sanpellegrino list of the world’s fifty best restaurants.
